Stop Sell

Stop Sell — Διακοπή πωλήσεων

IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

Stop Sell is a setting that closes a selected accommodation offer to new reservations for a chosen period. Depending on the system, it can apply to a unit, room type, selling option or particular channel. Understanding its scope is essential to using it correctly.

Example: closing a single channel

A property decides to close a particular unit on Expedia for the coming weekend while keeping its direct booking path open. A Stop Sell scoped to the correct connection can implement that choice. A room-type closure could have a broader effect. The same label in an interface is therefore not enough to establish the reach of an update.

Why sales may close while capacity remains

You may want to pause one channel, withdraw a selling option or check availability before accepting further bookings. The closure concerns whether a new reservation can be made. A physical issue, such as a unit becoming unusable, also needs to be reflected in the operational record and across every relevant sales route, rather than being addressed on only one channel.

Check the accommodation, dates and channel

Before applying Stop Sell, identify exactly which offer is closing and which nights are covered. Closing one rate does not necessarily close every way of selling the same accommodation. After updating it, verify the result on the relevant channel. To resume sales, the closure must be removed and valid availability, prices and other booking conditions must also be in place.

It does not cancel confirmed reservations

Stop Sell is not an instruction to cancel existing reservations. It also differs from a closed-to-arrival restriction, which may still permit a stay that began earlier. If a reservation appears after a closure, compare when it was created with when it was received before concluding that the setting was ignored. These can be different points in the booking timeline.
