Climate Crisis Resilience Fee

Τέλος Ανθεκτικότητας στην Κλιματική Κρίση · ΤΑΚΚ

IN PLAIN LANGUAGE

The Climate Crisis Resilience Fee, commonly called TAKK, is a levy applying to specified accommodation categories in Greece. It is borne by the guest and replaced the former accommodation tax. It relates to the daily use of a room or apartment under the applicable AADE framework.

Last updated:

Why it needs separate attention

The fee has its own special collection receipt and its own remittance procedure. Property staff need to distinguish the charge for accommodation services from collection of the fee. That makes it easier to explain each amount to the guest and prevents two separate obligations from being mistaken for a single document.

How it relates to documents

The accommodation document and the special TAKK receipt serve different purposes. The first concerns the service provided; the second records collection of this particular levy. The amount and application depend on factors established in law, including accommodation category and period. Current AADE guidance and the property's accountant determine the appropriate treatment for the specific case.

A guest communication example

In an illustrative checkout, the guest receives the document relating to accommodation and the distinct special receipt for the levy. Reception can explain which charge each document concerns without describing TAKK as an extra hotel service. This example neither calculates an amount nor prescribes issuance timing, because the exact treatment depends on the applicable rules. A clear explanation also helps the guest retain the right document for each part of the transaction.

Common misunderstanding

TAKK is not another name for VAT or the room price. Recording a charge in a reservation or folio does not automatically replace the required special receipt and remittance process. Use current official information and accounting guidance for amounts, exceptions and obligations.
